Every parent wants the best for their children -- character, strength, health, happiness, and a fulfilling life. What can be a better gift for children than the ability to read to their highest potential so they can learn, be inspired, and understand the world around them?

EBLI is about results
Many children and adults struggle with reading or are not reading to the best of their ability. You may be frustrated – you spend hours helping your child, talking to teachers, seeking advice and help. Still, the goal of getting your child to their reading and academic potential has remained out of reach. EBLI achieves amazing results using research-based reading strategies, skills, and activities.  Interactive Metronome training can serve to further enhance academic improvement. Clients at Ounce of Prevention Reading Center are provided 1:1 instruction, usually one hour per week and typically improve several grade levels in reading in an average of 12 hours of instruction. In addition, EBLI has helped hundreds of high school students improve ACT scores. Let us help.

How it works
EBLI gives students an explicit understanding of the reading behaviors that every successful reader needs to know. We offer one-on-one instruction at Ounce of Prevention Reading Center (OOPRC) in Flushing, Michigan [Map Link]. Interventions at OOPRC include EBLI instruction, cognitive processing activities, and Interactive Metronome training to improve reading ability, memory, processing speed, sequencing, and attention. In addition, we continually train teachers, both at OOPRC and in school- or district-wide sessions.

What others say
We do not use paid advertising for our program. EBLI and OOPRC rely exclusively on word-of-mouth testimonials from satisfied parents and teachers. Check out the Info Video to hear from parents and teachers.

“You are giving him the confidence in reading to help him to achieve his dreams for his future career and life choices with his ability to understand what he is reading and writing, which he didn’t have before.”

~
J. Williams, mother of 8th grader
